Yoga Nidra, the Liberating Power of Rest, and Harp Sound Bath from Devoted to Rest Retreat with Octavia Raheem
Yoga Nidra, the Liberating Power of Rest, and Harp Sound Bath from Devoted to Rest Retreat
At the heart of a beautifully resonant mandala hall, I had the privilege of holding space for twelve Black, Indigenous and Women of Color, and it was truly a gift. This experience, alongside the brilliant Octavia Raheem, during her Devoted to Rest Retreat at Elohee Retreat Center, left an indelible mark on my journey in sound healing and liberation through rest practices.
During this transformative event, I had the opportunity to engage in sound healing through harp sound bath, offering immersive harp music during a yoga nidra practice. It was deeply fulfilling to witness individuals immerse themselves, finding moments of release, enlightenment, and peace.
Now, as I reflect on this memory, I am reminded of the importance of creating spaces for rest and restoration, particularly for our Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color. The Devoted to Rest Retreat served as a reminder of the power of self-care and the healing potential of sound, yoga, and mindfulness practices.
Moving forward, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue offering these transformative experiences. Whether through private sessions, workshops, or corporate events, I am dedicated to providing individuals and organizations with the tools to cultivate rest and embrace moments of stillness in their lives.
