Black Harpist Angelica Hairston Receives International Honor as Cover Feature for Harp Column Magazine

The secret is out - I’m so excited to be on the cover of Harp Column Magazine’s Nov/Dec issue. 🌟

As a young Black harpist, I grew up reading the pages of this magazine, keeping hold of the most resonant covers where I could see myself represented - trailblazers like Pat Terry Ross, Ann Hobson Pilot, and Robbin Gordon Cartier. Those covers made a lasting impact on me as a young harpist.

I hope my story does the same; continuing to inspire harpists of today to redefine what’s possible, reminding us that every part of who we are, from our Ghanaian threads to our melanated skin and textured hair, deserves a place in the spotlight too.

A big thank you to the brilliant all Black woman team that made this harp photo happen!
